I am so happy to report that we are entering back into our little blog land. I am slightly mad at myself for the lapse in time that I didn't update, but I simply just couldn't get around to it. Better late than never though, so here we are.
The month of March summed up.....
We barely missed Grandma's birthday, but made it for Brian's |
Baby boy turns 3! |
Cousins with Papaw Louis |
Jack's birthday in Little Rock |
April
Jackson and I took a trip down to see Jana and Andrew in Destin, FL. It was so much fun and boy did he sleep well! He fell asleep standing up practically.
In Fudpucker's |
First Disney on Ice in Georgia! |
Mother's Day Brunch on Post
Melt my heart! |
That was the best flower delivery ever. I love him so much!
We packed up on Memorial Day weekend and headed to Atlanta
We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites and we really liked it. I love researching and planning trips. On this one we wanted free parking (hard to find in ATL), free breakfast, and an indoor pool for Jackson. He loves to swim! We found it all and bonus was a Chick Fil A next door so we were set. Don't think we missed out on a Cheesecake Factory opportunity while we were in town though :)
Going to get the bags from the car |
Our first full day was the Atlanta Zoo
The next day was Stone Mountain. We were pleasantly surprised by this place! They were having a great deal for military families. There was so much to do and an impressive laser show and fireworks to end the night with.
On a huge train! It went all around Stone Mountain |
Pretty good BBQ |
Fun obstacle courses |
Jack's first time zip lining was a success. I think he wishes we had one in our back yard.
We got to ride a really cool cable car to the top!
On top of the mountain, of course this is an illusion of being close to the side |
Waiting for the sun to set |
Climbing through the Geyser Falls |
One of the highlights for Jackson was the Geyser. There was a 4 story climbing zone that shot water all over the place. Underneath it was a Geyser that went off every 5 minutes and it drenched the kids. He squealed and laughed every time it went off.
View from the cable car |
Jackson made a little friend in the pool.
Sleepy check out day |
So glad we took our little trip up to Atlanta. Great memories!
Carrying on with the rest of the summer....
A photo op!
Jackson got a special delivery he was pretty fond of, from Poppy. A realistic cap gun and Toy Story 3!
Earlier when it came in the mail |
Jeremy's birthday and Father's Day weekend was spent relaxing and enjoying some good food. We took Jack to the splash park and went to Cock of the Walk for the first time. Loved it! On Father's Day we took Jackson for his first mini golf. Great weekend!
Birthday Snuggles |
We loved the tin dining set
Every other day consisted of popsicles, snow cones, sunsets, sprinkler time, water fun on post, pretty drives, back yard golf, and more summer stuff!
We always go here (a very slowly developing addition to our neighborhood)
to walk because there is no traffic and Jack can run free! |
July was a whole new ball game! It started out crazy hectic because I was having sinus surgery that week. Jeremy took Jackson to work with him so I could go to my pre-op appointment. I realized while walking out the door that he took my car keys with him accidentally. He was at his own appointment when I called him in a panic. It worked out ok, I was late to the appointment, but there was nothing they could do because my surgery was early the next morning. All went well with my surgery and the next day was July 4th!
We made plans earlier in June to have our friends over for a cookout that night, so Jeremy and Grandma were huge helps in the kitchen since I was pretty out of it after my surgery. It is all a blur really. We had to make extremely last minute plans to go to Arkansas at that point so July 5th we were on our way. In fact, Jeremy had bought himself a plane ticket back to Georgia and made all the arrangements while I was sleeping. Anyway, July was incredibly busy...here are some pictures :)
July 4th, Jackson and Carson hit it off so well! |
Grandpa, Grandma and Jackson |
Ready to roll to Arkansas! He rode with Grandma and Grandpa.
Talk about a strange trip for us! I know Jackson loved it. |
Back in Arkansas.......
Poppy was in town! |
My big boy went to his first Vacation Bible School!! |
He was a lamb for the closing night. He did great until "Jesus" walked over to them.
He tried to hide behind his lamb ears because he was scared, and started crying! |
We had a fun outing with Poppa and Nanna |
Walking with Grandpa |
Many of his days were spent at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Doing a little mowing with a green apple slush |
We picked Jeremy up at the Little Rock airport late one night while we were there. He had driven us to Arkansas and gone to my Aunt BJ's funeral :( then flown back to Georgia for work...and then flew back to Arkansas to spend some time and to drive us back to Georgia. We need a family helicopter.
Jackson was so happy to see his Daddy! |
Brian had a show at Juanita's in Little Rock the next night |
Along with being home in July, we also went to Fort Worth, TX with Brian for 3 nights...Jeremy actually made a second trip down there with Grandpa (less than 48 hours after we got back to Arkansas from our trip down there) to move Brian. He had some room mate misfortune. It is seriously always something!
Also, I am now seeing why I gained 10 pounds last month
Authentic Mexican. SO good |
At the Authentic Italian restaurant we went to for lunch. Also SO good! |

We knew this was going to be our last trip to Arkansas before moving home. It was a good one, but we are happy to be back to "normal" in Alabama for a little while longer. Now we wait for the final word! It was supposed to be September but some paperwork is stuck in transit somewhere, so now we are looking at October. I have said this before and I'm saying it again...we ALWAYS move in October! I should have known to expect it anyway haha!
Here are some pictures from our trip home and what we have been doing since being back.
I love Tennessee! |
Bubba was feeling pretty rough, but his medicine helped along the way |
Scenic potty break |
This boy loves traveling and truck stops! :)
Such a trooper |
I took Jack to the doctor on Monday because he still wasn't feeling well. Friday he was throwing up and was running fever, but he recovered and was just congested. By Monday, he was still sounding bad so I took him to his doctor. Strep throat again!
Being patient at the pharmacy on post |
I attempted to go to the doctor yesterday, but he was throwing up again as we tried to walk out the door. I had to cancel at the last minute.
Jeremy has been busy going to retirement briefings. There is a ton of information to take in. I wish I could have gone with him to help listen, but with Jackson being sick that wouldn't have worked out too well.
Enjoying the rain yesterday |
Mowing Sunday |
Cooling off after mowing. It was so nice Sunday, but if I had known
he had strep throat he wouldn't be playing so hard! |
Skype with Grandma and Grandpa |
Well, that should catch me up! At this point we are just trying to make the best of our time left here. Such a bittersweet feeling. My baby turned 2 and 3 in this house. I'm always saying the army let us stay here too long. After a year went by I was too attached...now that we are approaching the 2 year mark it is worse. We have had so many good times here! Jackson grew so much, from being able to walk under the bar in the kitchen to seeing over it. The roots are too deep here and I am going to bawl like a baby when we leave :(.
So anyway, I'm going to be posting again like old times! I'm pretty excited about it. I want to keep track of even our boring days. They all count!
